Web Site Design

Your web site represents your company: It displays your product, introduces you to your customers, and makes that all-important first impression.

While you can create your own web site, you may not want to tackle this critical task yourself. Let's face it: not all of us have been blessed with artistic skills. You can use software with prebuilt templates, but then your site looks like a million others.

Addy & Associates has the expertise, tools, and experience to make your web site look like a million bucks instead of a million others. We work closely with you to craft a site that's uniquely yours and showcases your company.

The Design Process

Over the years, we've developed a design process based on the classic "waterfall" method of software engineering that works very well for our clients. Considering that almost all of our customers are located hundreds or thousands of miles away, we specialize in working with you without ever meeting face-to-face.

Phase 1: Initial Consulation
This may take place over the phone or through email. During this phase we identify your goals for your site, the scope of the project, available budget and pre-existing materials. We also discuss any design preferences you may have, such as particular "looks" or functions. Generally there is no fee involved with this phase and there is no committment from the client.

Phase 2: Initial Design
Here, a "mockup" design is developed. This conceptual design is based on the client's input from phase one and refined based on feedback from the client. The fee for this phase is based on the complexity and number of designs needed and the scope of the client-requested revisions. If the project is approved for implementation, the design fee is credited to the final cost.

Phase 3: Job Proposal
A detailed document is developed with the client, outlining the scope of the work and a final price quote. The is no fee for the proposal phase.

Phase 4: Implementation
Begins upon the client's acceptance of the proposal. Final design elements are created and any necessary programming is done. The client is required to be actively involved in testing and review during this phase. 50% of the final implementation cost (less the design fee) is due from the client at the beginning of this phase. Additionally, the cost of any third-party materials required (such as stock photos, custom utilities, secure SSL certificates, etc) will be required prior to implementation.

Phase 5: Final Revisions
When all site areas are complete and functional, the site is posted to a temporary area on the Internet for review and minor changes. This point is referred to as "substantial completion". At this point, the client is required to pay any remaining fees for the project. Once payment is settled and the client approves, the site is made "live".

Phase 6: Maintenance
No site should stay the same. Your site should be as dynamic as your business, updated with new information as needed. Addy & Associates will be happy to help with future updates or you can have another party perform updates. If the update is a fix required by an error on our part, there will of course be no charge.
